¶ 一、什么是MDB / 1. What Is MDB
1.1 MDB是MDB/ ICP协议(Multi-Drop Bus/Internal Communication Protocol)的简称，是由美国国家自动机械销售协会（NAMA）和欧洲售货机协会（EVA）共同制定的自动售卖机内部通信标准，用于协调自动售货系统的主控制器(VMC)与多个外设（例如 POS，纸币器，硬币器，找零器）之间通信的协议。
1.1 MDB is the abbreviation of the MDB/ICP protocol (Multi-Drop Bus/Internal Communication Protocol). It is an internal communication standard for vending machines jointly formulated by the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) of the United States and the European Vending Association (EVA). It is a protocol used to coordinate communication between the main controller (VMC) of a vending system and multiple peripherals (such as POS, banknote validators, coin validators, and change dispensers).
1.2 它规范了各个外设连接的电压和接口标准，以及如何建立通讯和传输数据的规范，极大的降低了各设备直接的对接难度。
1.2 It standardizes the voltage and interface standards for connecting various peripherals, as well as the specifications for how to establish communication and transmit data, greatly reducing the difficulty of direct interconnection between devices.
1.3 但是由于该协议规范不具备强制约束力，所以各设备厂商按各自不同的理解完成协议开发，没有认证机制；同时厂家也可按照自身需要实现部分重要功能，忽略了一些不常用的功能，故而不同设备还是会存在一些微小差异。

¶ 三．如何判断刷卡器是否具备MDB 功能 / 3. How to Determine Whether a Card Reader Has MDB Function
1.1 查看刷卡器外观是否具备典型的 MDB 电气接口 （如图所示）

1.2 查看刷卡器产品规格书中 接口一栏中是否含有 MDB 字样 （如图所示）

¶ 四. 如何确保刷卡器和售货机MDB 匹配 / 4. How to Ensure the Card Reader Matches the Vending Machine MDB
1.1 GS 售货机系统基于 MDB适配器 完成MDB 协议对接，兼容市面上大多数的MDB支付设备，详情查看《GS-已适配MDB设备列表.xlsx》。
1.1 The GS vending machine system completes MDB protocol docking based on the MDB adapter and is compatible with most MDB payment devices on the market. For details, see 《GS-Adapted MDB Device List.xlsx》.
1.2 GS 售货机系统作为主设备控制外设，因为MDB 总线上只能有一个主设备，其他外设处于从设备的地位。请确保刷卡器的连接模式处于 Slave。
1.2 The GS vending machine system acts as the master device to control peripherals, because there can only be one master device on the MDB bus, and other peripherals are in the slave position. Please ensure that the card reader's connection mode is set to Slave.
1.3 由于绝大部分设备厂商都有一套自有的通讯协议，MDB 作为附加功能存在，安装前需要提前咨询设备厂商是否已经将连接协议修改成MDB 模式。
1.3 Because the vast majority of device manufacturers have their own proprietary communication protocol and MDB exists as an additional function, before installation you need to consult the device manufacturer in advance as to whether the connection protocol has been changed to MDB mode.
1.4 基于MDB 协议历史悠久，诞生之初，Level 2是标准配置，因为当时的售货机功能相对简单，2000年之后随着售货机功能变得越来越复杂， 建议刷卡器处于Level3详情查看《GS-MDB Level2 Level 3 区别.pdf》。
1.4 Given the long history of the MDB protocol, Level 2 was the standard configuration at its inception because vending machine functions were relatively simple at that time. ¶ 五. 安装MDB刷卡器之前应该做哪些准备工作 / 5. What Preparations Should Be Made Before Installing an MDB Card Reader
由于绝大部分设备厂商都有一套自有的通讯协议，MDB 作为附加功能存在，需要提前咨询设备厂商是否已将连接协议修改成 MDB 模式，并询问刷卡器厂商是否满足第三点中对于 MDB 协议交互、事件上报、金额报文格式的适配要求。
Because the vast majority of device manufacturers have their own proprietary communication protocol and MDB exists as an additional function, you need to consult the device manufacturer in advance whether the connection protocol has been changed to MDB mode, and ask the card reader manufacturer whether it meets the adaptation requirements in point 3 for MDB protocol interaction, event reporting, and amount message format.
前置调试步骤补充： / Supplementary Pre-debugging Steps:
- 硬件接线：确认串口 / TTL 电平、供电引脚，区分主机侧与外设（刷卡器 / 纸币器 / 投币器）接线定义，防止接反烧坏外设；
Hardware wiring: Confirm the serial port / TTL level and power supply pins, and distinguish the wiring definitions of the host side and peripherals (card reader / banknote validator / coin acceptor) to prevent reverse connection from burning out peripherals; - PC 软件配置：设置正确串口号、波特率、数据位 / 停止位 / 校验位，开启实时日志记录；
PC software configuration: Set the correct serial port number, baud rate, data bits / stop bits / parity bits, and enable real-time log recording; - 调试流程：先单独上电，执行外设初始化指令，验证版本报文正常返回；再依次测试金额配置、交易发起、刷卡上报、找零、取消交易、设备复位等全流程报文交互；
Debugging process: First power on separately, execute the peripheral initialization command, and verify that the version message is returned normally; then test the full-process message interaction in sequence, including amount configuration, transaction initiation, card swipe reporting, change making, transaction cancellation, and device reset; - 抓包验证：对比实际串口日志与协议文档定义，校验 HEX 指令、应答报文、事件上报格式是否匹配，排查丢包、超时、报文解析异常问题。
Packet capture verification: Compare the actual serial port log with the protocol document definitions, verify whether the HEX commands, response messages, and event reporting formats match, and troubleshoot problems such as packet loss, timeout, and message parsing exceptions.
